Streetlight Control Room in C. Jakarta Began Operating

A control room to monitor streetlights for 24 hours in Central Jakarta that is located at the Central Jakarta Mayor Office started operating. 

We will know where the malfunctioned lamp is, its location, etc

Central Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-dept. Headm Iswandi said the control room is launched to speed up the response time of handling the streetlights. Besides facilitating officer, they can also know the malfunctioned lamp in advance than residents.

He explains if there is malfunctioned lamp, a notification will appear on the monitor, thus the room operator could directly instruct the officer in the field to repair it.

Transjakarta Controlled Through Control Room

"We will know where the malfunctioned lamp is, its location, etc. After being responded, without officer in the field, the control system can directly give a color that the lamps have been repaired," he explained, Saturday (2/4).

He went on the say that the room under Jatibaru Technical Dept. is able to monitor the lamps all over Jakarta, but about reparation remains given to each region.

"Especially at control room in Central Jakarta, we can only monitor lamps in one city (Central Jakarta). It gives speed to our personnel in doing reparation," he told.

In terms of savings, it can reduce power consumption by 50 percent and would have implications on a monthly account to be paid.

"Its power can be reduced. If people activities is reduced at night, we could reduce its power up to 50 percent," he stated.

Further, six operators will occupy the room. They are divided into three shifts for 24 hours. There will be two officers in each shift.

"No holidays. They will work 24 hours alternately," he stated.
